Doors

Since I started posting pictures of doors that I’ve taken from different places around the world, I have noticed that I’m not the only admirer. In honor of all you door fans out there, I’m posting another excerpt from my book,                         A Casual Traveler.100_6083

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new a new way of seeing things.” Henry Miller

                                                                       DOORS

Open the door.

What is a door? A portal to another time, or place?

Exit the dark – enter light. Leave the cold – find warmth. Retreat from noise – discover quiet. Escape danger – seek safety.

Why do we photograph doors?

Travel through  door on planes, trains, and automobiles.

Was Jim Morrison looking for the doors?

Ever wonder what’s behind the door? I want to know more!

The first porn movie was Behind The Green Door.

In The Price is Right you choose a door.

The Twilight Zone’s tortured soles wondered hallways, searching for the correct door.

Who’s behind those doors? Are they rich or are they poor?

Doors take us to work, school, church, and home.

Some are used to enter, others to keep you out.

The word sounds like floor, but spelled door.

Judge a book by its cover, a door for its decor.

Why does it open in, if going out?

Close the door.

And then, there are windows…

  1. Some great ones in this set. I hope you’ll consider joining us over on my blog for Thursday Doors one of these weeks. We have several dozen door lovers who get together to share door posts once a week. Cheers 🙂
