Trafficking Chen – Teaser

Here’s a tease for what Norm Strom is up to next:

Human Trafficking is an affliction that has infected countries across the world for centuries, and continues to do so today. There are countless numbers of victims.

Trafficking Chen is the heartfelt story of one victim, a young Chinese girl who is taken from her family home to settle an outstanding gambling debt acquired by her father. She is forced into labor and becomes a servant to the rich.

As Chen comes of age, she has to serve in other ways, using her own body to satisfy her master’s sexual appetite. Later, she is prostituted and moved around the country, eventually being shipped overseas to Canada, where she is put to work as an exotic dancer.

Street Crimes Detective Norm Strom mostly investigates property-related crime, but he receives a tip from a confidential informant who says illegal Asian women are dancing at a local strip club. Trying to ignore personal issues, Strom joins a task force to investigate possible human trafficking in his city.

Please Support Your Local Stores

Book stores are struggling to survive, the same as restaurants and other small businesses in our area. Please shop local when you can, and help your neighbors to keep their businesses running during these trying times.

River Bookshop in Amherstburg, Story Tellers, Juniper, and Biblioasis are all local stores who can use your support. All my books are currently for sale at River Bookshop and Story Tellers. They are both currently open for curbside pickup.

One of the lessons that I remember my mother reminding me of often, was about sharing. Being one of six siblings, and even though I was the biggest and oldest, I was taught to share my food and clothes and even my toys with my brothers and sisters. In our now disposable world, hand-me-downs are something that newer generations know nothing about.

Since becoming a published author, I love sharing my thoughts and stories with anyone who is willing to read them. And I am truly grateful that so many people have come to like my books and have shared their hard-earned money with me, in buying them.

By using social media, I have not only learned how to share my writing, but everyday news, interesting tidbits, and even jokes that I think others will find amusing. Some of those things have been shared by my online friends and I am happy to pass them on.

And now I humbly ask you to share this post and pass it on to your friends and contacts. In appreciating my fans and friends, I try not to spam everyone all the time. I receive plenty of ‘likes’ that let me know how many are interested in what I have to say, and for that I thank you. Perhaps by sharing this post you can help me reach out to new friends and readers who might be interested in my words.

Four Reasons to buy my book ‘Four’

I’ve always had an open mind when it comes to things like ancient healing techniques, Deja-vu, mystery sounding structures like the Pyramids, and the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

The television series, X-Files, also piqued my interest. Thinking about strange phenomenon depicted on that show, along with my personal experiences at ancient ruin sites, I was inspired to write my own paranormal thriller.

In my book, Four, I blend fact with fiction to give readers pause, and let them wonder if we really are alone in the universe. Here are four reasons I think you should buy my book, ‘Four’:

Four Men The story is about four men from different parts of the world who all experience something unexplainable during their lives, and are then drawn to the Khufu Pyramid in Egypt on the same date. Later, at a reunion of sorts, they try to explain it all to one of their sons, who comes to have his own beliefs.

Interesting Phenomenon Throughout the book, I refer to factual unexplained events that have happened in the past, and continue to occur to this day. There are so many things on our planet that we cannot explain and know nothing about. You just have to look for them.

Extraterrestrial Life Whether you believe it or not, there have been thousands of accounts of UFO sightings around the world for years, and artifacts that have been found on our planet that may prove their existence.

A Christmas Gift What better gift than something that lets an imagination run wild in wonderment, while discovering things in and out of this world that are fun to think about and contemplate.

Check out Four on my website, along with all my other books. They can be ordered online, but if you’re local and would like a copy of one delivered before Christmas, message me here or on one of my social media sites.

Five Reasons to Buy A Casual Traveler

At a retirement seminar I attended, before packing in my thirty-one years and four months of police work, we were told to have a plan, a hobby or something to do for the rest of our lives. Even before that, I knew that travelling the world was how I wanted to spend a large part of my senior years.

I travelled abroad and around the continent for the first two years of my retirement, and sent family and friends email about my adventures and misadventures. Coaxed on by their remarks, I wrote my first book.

Here are five reasons to buy A Casual Traveler:

Forty-two Travel Tales. Stories like the kind in Readers Digest, that take you to exotic places near and far that in some cases you can only dream about. Share my experiences on motorcycle trips across the continent or in countries like Peru, Argentina, Chile, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Mexico and Belize.

Travel From Home. In these unsure times of the Corona Virus and restricted travel, stay safe at home and read a good book. You only have to go as far as the book store or your computer to order a copy online.

Cheap Entertainment. Since we can’t go to the movie theaters and there seems to be nothing left to watch on Netflix or Crave, visualize all the places you can’t visit by seeing the world through my stories.

Support a Local Author. The ten most popular authors in the world control eighty percent of book sales. Help me supplement my retirement and build my travel fund.

It’s Christmas. What do you buy someone who has everything but likes to read? A book. A Casual Traveler’s convenient size makes it ideal for wrapping, mailing or stuffing it into a Christmas stocking.

A Casual Traveler and all my other books can be purchased locally in Windsor at PB Books or Storytellers Books, and in Amherstburg at River Bookstore, or online through my website: www.edmondgagnon.com

My Books

2020 has been an interesting year to say the least. Devastating hurricanes, huge storms with terrible flooding, massive and destructive wildfires, a global pandemic, and a U.S. Presidential debate where the candidates resorted to name-calling. God help us all as this year winds down.

For me, as an author and novelist, the year’s events and lack of travel opportunities has left me with more time to write. I recently completed my ninth book and am well into the next one. Unfortunately, those same events that have given me more free time have taken away several opportunities for me to sell books.

In considering all the indoor events that were cancelled this year I had to get creative and attend more outdoor markets and shows. With more people staying home, and away from bookstores, I noticed my online book sales have gone up.

To better accommodate my readers I re-priced all my online books, taking into consideration different currencies on sites like Amazon.com and .ca. This means savings for Canadians, who compose the bulk of my fans. All my prices for Ebooks are $2.99 or less. Paperback prices reflect page count and cost of production.

I’ve also changed the local bookstores where you can find my books, removing them from Juniper Books on Ottawa Street. PB Books on Tecumseh road appears to be closed indefinitely. All my books are now available at Story Teller Books on Ottawa Street and River Bookshop in Amherstburg.

Thank you to all my fans and readers for your support.

Rants, Raves & Reviews – ‘Having Faith’

Finding Hope Author Edmond GagnonThey say having faith keeps you positively motivated, with a great outlook on life. For me, ‘Having Faith’, means my next book, the sequel to ‘Finding Hope.’ Norm Strom fans and readers have pondered the open ending of Hope and asked what happens next, and if there would ever be a sequel.

Finding Hope has been my best-selling novel so far, with Border City Chronicles closing in fast for second place, catching quickly up to Rat. So, for all you murder, mystery, and serial killer fans out there, this next one’s for you. I’m happy to announce I’ve just cracked the 10,000 word mark and am on a roll.

In this story Norm will be joined by the hot black homicide detective from Detroit, Abigail Brown, who was the main character in ‘Knock-Out’, the last story in Border City Chronicles. She will take the reigns again, on her home turf, in the gritty bowels of downtown Detroit, hunting a serial killer. Who will it be this time?
