Nero’s Steak House

1491341927522What ever happened to all the good steak house restaurants? Windsor used to have at least a half dozen top notch places. Did the next generation stop eating steak or do they avoid upscale eateries? Even the Outback Steakhouse couldn’t survive in Windsor.

Not to worry folks. In case you haven’t heard, Nero’s Steak House in Casino Windsor is all things a good beef baron should be, and more. They specialize in prime cuts of meat, but also offer seafood and a full menu.

The first perk offered by Nero’s is free valet parking, just pull up to the front of the casino and leave your car with the attendant there. I don’t know of anywhere else in the city you can find that – Erie street used to offer it because of the lack of parking in the area.

Nero’s prices are high end, but the food quality is the same. If you’re looking for a great deal there go on a Wednesday or Thursday night for one of their specials. Without alcohol two can dine for a hundred bucks and leave completely satisfied.

oCathryn and I won tickets to a Thursday night show and were able to walk into the restaurant without reservations. We ordered the seafood platter for two for $99. It came with soup or Caesar salad, fresh warm bread, two six ounce lobster tails, two king crab legs, four jumbo shrimp, two huge scallops, baked lobster mac & cheese, and seasonal veggies. Dessert included a good sized slab of cheesecake for each of us.

Our dinner was delicious and filling. Simone, our server, was friendly, helpful, and hardly ever out of our sight.

If seafood’s not your thing try going on a Wednesday night for their steak and lobster special for $48.

Cathryn tried their steak on another occasion with her Dining Divas. All the women raved about their meals.
